Grooming is an important aspect of responsible pet care.  Matted coats in dogs or cats can be painful and cause skin tears or infection. In the summertime, there can be maggots under mats. Nails that are too long can cause lameness or the nails can curl and grow into the paw pads.  Whether it is for style, comfort, removal of unwanted hair, dematting, or nail trimming, the safety and comfort of your pet is of utmost importance at Cats' Inn.

Considerations about grooming cats

Cats are different to handle than dogs. At Liberty Bell Farm, the guidelines of the Professional Cat Groomers Association of America are adhered to closely. Lynn Tezak is a certified Master Cat Groomer.  Owners are encouraged to stay for grooming. Many shampoos, sprays, conditioners, and premises disinfectants that are safe for dogs or you, are harmful or toxic to cats.  The effects of unsafe products can be immediate or cumulative.  All products used on cats are labelled cat safe.  Groomers' loops are not safe for cats, as a cat can strangle easily.  No groomers loops are used.  If restraint is necessary, a second person will restrain the cat. Extra time is spent to give the cat a "timeout" if he needs it. Because the presense of dogs can be stressful to a cat, cats are never groomed in the same vicinity as dogs.
